Below is a list of some products and tools I use. Many of us don’t realize the amount of harmful toxins in everyday products we are exposed to. We may have used a particular brand or product for so long, we never question whether it contains toxins. With that in mind, I created this list more as a reminder of which types of products to check, rather than recommending these specific brands or products. The items listed are ones I have gradually switched to overtime.
Although these are products I personally use and trust, it’s important to understand my decision-making tools and strategies in selecting clean products so you can navigate on your own. In my effort to avoid toxins, I have invested significant time and resources researching and testing various tools and products. I test my drinking water regularly to help ensure my reverse osmosis system and filters are functioning properly. This is my go-to all-purpose cleaner. I use the Baby Unscented version because it contains no added fragrance, and it receives excellent ratings from several ingredient-scanning apps.
It can be used for hand soap, body wash, household cleaning, laundry, and much more. Be sure to follow the dilution instructions on the label.
It can even be used to wash dogs, although I recommend sticking with the unscented version, as many essential oils can be harmful to pets.
I prefer this simple glass coffee maker because there are no hidden components—everything is visible and easy to clean. I heat the water separately in one of my stainless steel Cuisinart saucepans (listed above), then pour it into the coffee maker.
I purchased this 304 stainless steel coffee filter because the included filter materials that came with the above coffee maker were not clearly specified by the manufacturer. I wanted to make sure the filter was a high grade stainless steel.

The non-stick coating is food-grade silicone. While I generally try to minimize silicone use where possible, I haven't found a better alternative for these particular products. For many baking applications, simply using oil on stainless steel or glass bakeware works well.
I use 5% distilled white vinegar strictly for cleaning—not cooking.
It's incredibly versatile and can be used as a natural fabric softener, deodorizer and stain remover; diluted as an all-purpose cleaner and combined with baking soda to help unclog drains or loosen cooked-on food from stainless steel cookware.
Note: I also keep 30% distilled vinegar on hand for outdoor weed control. Because it's highly concentrated, it can cause skin and eye burns. Always wear gloves and eye protection, and store it safely away from children and pets.
I rarely use paper towels anymore. These reusable white towels are my everyday kitchen cleaning cloths.
I used Mamavation's Salt investigation dated May 4, 2026 as my guide when selecting salt. Based on the testing available at the time, Jacobson’s Sea Salt was among the best-performing sea salts tested for the contaminants evaluated
I also relied on Mamavation's olive oil investigation dated July 8, 2026 when choosing an olive oil.

I chose it because of it's spacious interior, it includes a dehydrator function, and was very affordable (around $90 at Walmart compared with $130 on Amazon when I purchased it).
If you purchase this model, consider replacing the aluminum baking trays with stainless steel alternatives, as recommended in the Mamavation report.
This is the residential air purifier I'm planning to purchase for my own home after researching available options.
